The opportunity

Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Light Equipment Operator to join our team. Reporting to the Agricultural Services Coordinator, this exciting opportunity maintains and operates roadside vegetation equipment and machinery. As a member of the Agricultural Services team, the Light Equipment Operator is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

What you will do

• Contribute to the operation of the department’s agricultural programs by performing work and adhering to technical and municipal standards.
  • Inspect, maintain cleanliness and operates various equipment and machinery for vegetation management on municipal right-of-ways, park reserves, and public land.
• Adhere to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
• Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
• Perform related duties as required and assigned.

What you need to succeed

Must-have

A high school diploma supplemented with a minimum one (1) year of experience in light equipment and machinery operation and maintenance and a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.

Nice to have

An agricultural background and/or experience, basic knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, and experience and willingness to use a chainsaw are assets.

We offer a competitive hourly salary of between $18.49 and $23.79, This opportunity is seasonal full-time and is 40 hours per week scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with the possibly of some extended hours to meet operational requirements. There may be opportunity to work 10 hour days Monday – Thursday.

The office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
